Relay Racing and Projects

Yesterday at the Rio Olympics, the UK’s 4x400m men’s relay team thought they had secured their place in the final, when they crossed the line first in the semi-final.  But they didn’t.  Instead they were disqualified for a technical infringement at the baton changeover. Team sports such as relay running, are great analogies for project teams in many ways.

CCPM – Critical Chain Project Management

The Benefits of adopting Breakthrough Project Management

Breakthrough Project Management is about money and business.  It is a route to lower costs, lower risk, and higher profits, for organisations at any stage in the project process.  Lower costs come from more efficient use of resources and shorter project durations.

Pretty reports, or better projects?

Why do companies buy project management and planning software? There is a stark contrast in the claimed benefits, between traditional and CCPM systems.

Why do projects go bad right at the end?

In truth they don’t.  The early signs of problems are usually there long before the problems are noticed by management, but the project control system doesn’t make them visible.  This is where CCPM – our preferred method of project management – comes into its own.
